Developmental Milestone Age Tracker

Enter your child's age and check which milestones they have achieved. This tool compares their progress against CDC/AAP evidence-based typical developmental ranges.

Language Milestones – check all that apply:

Social/Emotional Milestones – check all that apply:

Cognitive Milestones – check all that apply:

Methodology

Each milestone is assigned a typical window [start, end] in months and a concern threshold — the age by which non-achievement warrants professional review, based on CDC "Learn the Signs. Act Early." guidelines and AAP Bright Futures schedules.

Achievement Score = (Milestones achieved ÷ Milestones applicable to child's age) × 100%

Status Logic:

  • On Track: 0 concern flags AND score ≥ 80%
  • Monitor Closely: ≤ 2 concern flags AND score ≥ 60%
  • Consult Paediatrician: ≥ 3 concern flags OR score < 60%

A milestone is flagged as Early if achieved before its typical start month, In Progress if the window is open but not yet achieved, and Concern if the child's age exceeds the concern threshold without achievement.

Assumptions & References

  • Milestone windows are population-based ranges; individual variation is normal within the window.
  • Concern thresholds align with CDC "Learn the Signs. Act Early." (2022) and AAP Bright Futures (4th ed.).
  • Covers ages 1 month to 60 months (5 years) across four domains: motor, language, social/emotional, and cognitive.
  • Premature infants should use corrected age (chronological age minus weeks premature) until approximately 24 months.
  • A single missed milestone does not constitute a diagnosis; patterns across domains are more clinically meaningful.
  • This tool does not screen for autism spectrum disorder (ASD); use validated tools such as M-CHAT-R for that purpose.
