Homework Completion Rate Tracker

Calculate homework completion rates, weighted averages, and projected grades based on assignment completion data.

Formulas Used

Completion Rate (CR)
CR = (Completed ÷ Assigned) × 100

Effective Homework Score (EHS)
EHS = CR × Average Score on Completed
(Incomplete assignments are treated as 0)

Homework Grade Contribution
HW Contribution = EHS × (Homework Weight ÷ 100)

Projected Final Grade (PFG)
PFG = HW Contribution + Other Grade × ((100 − HW Weight) ÷ 100)

Projected Grade if All Remaining Completed
EHS* = ((Completed + Remaining) ÷ (Assigned + Remaining)) × Avg Score
PFG* = EHS* × (HW Weight ÷ 100) + Other Contribution

Assignments Needed to Pass (≥60% final)
Solve: ((Completed + x) ÷ Total Future) × Avg Score × (HW Weight ÷ 100) + Other Contribution ≥ 60

Assumptions & References

  • Incomplete or missing assignments receive a score of 0 when computing the effective homework score.
  • Letter grades follow the standard US academic scale (A ≥ 93, A− ≥ 90, B+ ≥ 87, … F < 60).
  • "Other Grade" represents the weighted average of all non-homework components (tests, quizzes, projects, etc.).
  • The "remaining assignments" projection assumes all future work is completed at the same average score as past work.
  • Homework weight and other-grade weight are assumed to sum to 100%.
