Conscious Discipline Skill Progression Tracker
Assess progression across Conscious Discipline's seven core skills (Composure, Encouragement, Assertiveness, Choices, Empathy, Positive Intent, Consequences) using frequency-weighted scoring to determine overall mastery level.
Formulas Used
1. Weighted Raw Score (WRS):
WRS = Σ (Skill_i × Weight_i)
Weights: Composure=0.20, Encouragement=0.15, Empathy=0.15, Assertiveness=0.13, Choices=0.13, Positive Intent=0.12, Consequences=0.12
2. Experience Multiplier (EM):
EM = 1 + 0.25 × [ln(weeks + 1) / ln(105)]
Range: 1.000 (week 1) → 1.250 (week 104); logarithmic to reflect diminishing returns
3. Adjusted Score (AS):
AS = min(WRS × EM × RoleWeight, 10)
4. Skill Balance Index (SBI):
SBI = 1 − (σ / μ), clamped to [0, 1]
where σ = standard deviation of seven skill scores, μ = mean
5. Composite Mastery Score (CMS):
CMS = (AS × 0.80) + (SBI × 10 × 0.20)
Expressed as a percentage: CMS% = (CMS / 10) × 100
6. Progression Levels:
CMS < 3.0 → Awareness | 3.0–4.9 → Understanding | 5.0–6.4 → Application | 6.5–7.9 → Integration | ≥ 8.0 → Mastery
Assumptions & References
- Based on the seven Conscious Discipline skills defined by Dr. Becky Bailey (Loving Guidance, Inc.).
- Composure receives the highest weight (0.20) as it is the foundational skill upon which all others depend per the Brain State Model.
- Consequences receives a lower weight (0.12) as it is considered an advanced skill requiring prior mastery of earlier skills.
- The logarithmic experience multiplier reflects research showing skill acquisition follows a learning curve with rapid early gains and gradual plateau.
- Role weights reflect that educators have the most structured practice opportunities; all roles are within 15% of each other.
- The Skill Balance Index penalizes uneven development, consistent with CD's whole-practitioner philosophy.
- Frequency scores (0–10) are self-reported; for validated assessment, use the CD Fidelity Tool available through Loving Guidance.
